In Analyst Briefing Workshops we ban the phrase “as you can see” for the first sixty seconds. Analysts must state a claim a sceptical controller could disagree with.
Examples that work in Malaysian reviews
- “Overtime cost rose fastest in Plant B, not the site with the highest headcount.”
- “Inventory ageing improved in finished goods while WIP deteriorated — the board will show both.”
- “Collection days look stable until we filter out the government contracts.”
Then invite the filter
Only after the claim do we invite a cut: “If you want Plant B by shift, say so.” The board becomes a conversation prop instead of a tour of every series. Cohorts who practise this rhythm finish timed drills with fewer slide-flip apologies.
